Over the weekend.

The wife and I went to my sister and brother-in-law's house. The trip was dual or triple purpose, 1 - taxes, 2 - bus work, 3 - baby room work.
Well, we got our tax stuff filled out. Did a little work on the bus and a little work on the baby room.

My sister is with child and is expecting to deliver the little creature in a few weeks.
I took pictures of everyone working on the room. Thought I'd share a few with you.

Fortune Cookie Say...

Jessica order Chinese food tonight.
She got fortune cookies with her order - we each opened one and this is what they said...
That's crazy considering my last few post!
I think I'll follow the fortune cookie's advice and play Wii!

Put Your Hands Together....

Last night I had the opportunity to redeem myself.

When I was 16 or 17, I had the opportunity to introduce Brian Free (a southern gospel artist) on stage at Paramount's Carowinds for one of the biggest Southern Gospel Concerts of the year. I had done my research. Prepare a whole list of things to say. I was standing just off stage waiting for Gary McSpadden to introduce me, when he starting saying EVERYTHING on my paper. It was if he had read my stuff before I got there. Anyway - long story short, I choked. It was the worst introduction ever!

So, why did I write this?

Last night, Gold City was in town and the station I used to work full time for, but now work part time, was sponsoring the concert and the station owner, Carl Ford, was supposed to Emcee.

He came down with the Flu on Wednesday and I've been working up at the station since then filling in for him.

So I got the call on Thursday to be ready to fill in as emcee on Friday night if he didn't get better. I thought it would be cool - but I still had that Brian Free intro in the back of my mind.

Of course, since the time I introduced (or didn't) Brian Free I have done alot of public speaking, so I'm not as nervous in front of people.

Is this getting long?

I got to the concert, introduced myself to Daniel Riley (Gold City). I was definately not feeling nervous. I jumped up on stage and felt as calm as could be. I think everything went well. It was tons of fun and I can't wait until I get the opportunity to do it again. I'm not wishing illness on Carl Ford, of course!

My World

Here is a picture of my toys.

I'll not label them - but see if you can find them all.

The only thing that's missing is my camera - I was using it to take the picture!

Take a Break - Get to Work

I thought I'd take advantage of the few moments I've had to sit and meditate. I'm sitting and meditating here with my new laptop! So I thought I'd blog.

My exciting life:
Monday: Worked Late - DST threw a loop in a few of our access control systems.
Tuesday: Worked Late - Meeting after work
Wednesday: Worked Early - Filled in at the Radio Station for a bit.
Thursday: Worked REAL Early - Filled in at the Radio Station from 4:30a - 8:00a. Then I went to work!
Friday: I'll be rekeying about 60 cylinders (locks) all day.
Oh, in my spare time, I've created 2 radio commercials, updated websites, starting building a website and I think i've slept a few hours!

I'm taking this weekend off! I'm just going to stay at home and help put the house back together - we've been slinging stuff left and right running in and out trying to keep on schedule. I've got alot of office / design / studio work to do as well.
But, I'm taking the weekend off!

I do want to say that I'm not at all complaining - I love to work and stay busy. I used to joke about my work coming in packs all at the same time, but for some reason that has not been true here lately - it's been steady for awhile. This is a good thing!

Later
My legs are falling asleep!

Sprint and the Blackberry 8703!

Oh YEAH!

This has been a great week in technology!

New laptop and a new Blackberry. Our company ditched the Nextel network (finally!) and switch to Sprint! I know what you are thinking - but it makes sense to me!!

With the switch came a new phone - I was excited about this, because the Blackberry 7520, in all it's finest, just didn't match up to my old BB 7100's screen. But the Blackberry 8703 has all the best of the 7100 and the 7520 smashed together in a smaller case.

The full QWERTY keyboard, which I love and the awesome 320 x 240 screen. I'm enjoying setting everything up - it's been a blast.

Vista It Is!

Behold...my newest new toy.
The Gateway 6828 Laptop - Complete with Microsoft's Vista.
I've played with Vista on a couple computers - I have to tell you, I'm not that impressed. But it was time for a new laptop to assist in my work and the old Dell Inspiron 2650 has done well for me, but it was not keeping up with all I needed it to do.
The Gateway has the Intel 2 Duo Core processor and 1 gig of ram (i may upgrade this). I'm running Vista - the only problem I've had thus far is my browser.
I use and recommend Mozilla's Firefox and I can't seem to get it to install. But have no fear - I will make it happen!!

There is just something about the smell of new electronics - they should bottle this stuff up!
